Free Auto AC Inspection in Houston

Is your air conditioning blowing warm air, cooling inconsistently, or producing weak airflow? At National Transmission, our Free Auto AC Inspection provides a basic check of your vehicle’s air conditioning performance and accessible components before you authorize additional testing or repairs.

What's Included in Our Free AC Inspection?

Our technicians perform a basic performance check and visual inspection, including:

  • Vent Temperature Check – We measure the air temperature coming from the vehicle dashboard vents to evaluate cooling performance under the conditions present during the inspection.
  • Airflow Check – We check airflow from the vents and note weak or inconsistent output.
  • Basic Control Check – We check how the system responds to temperature, fan speed, and airflow settings.
  • Visual Component Inspection – We inspect accessible AC components, hoses, and connections for visible damage or deterioration.
  • Visible Leak Indicators – We look for visible residue or other signs that may warrant further leak testing. A visual inspection alone cannot confirm that the system is leak-free.

You'll Understand the Next Step

After the inspection, we’ll explain what we observed and whether additional testing is recommended. Some cooling concerns can be identified during a basic check, while others require diagnostic equipment or more time to determine the cause.

There’s no pressure and no obligation to purchase additional services.

What Is Not Included in the Free Auto AC Inspection?

The complimentary inspection is a basic performance and visual check. It does not include a complete diagnosis or refrigerant service.

Additional charges apply for services such as:

  • Connecting refrigerant pressure gauges or performing detailed system-pressure testing
  • Recovering, evacuating, or recharging refrigerant
  • Adding refrigerant, oil, dye, or other materials
  • Electronic, UV dye, or other specialized leak detection
  • Scan-tool testing or electrical diagnosis of sensors, wiring, modules, or controls
  • Disassembly to inspect components that are not readily accessible
  • Parts replacement or repairs

If additional testing or service is recommended, we’ll explain the work and its cost and get your authorization before proceeding.

Does Warm Air Mean My AC Just Needs Refrigerant?

Not necessarily. Poor cooling can have several causes, including refrigerant leaks, airflow restrictions, compressor problems, or electrical faults. A basic inspection helps determine the appropriate next step; it does not establish the refrigerant charge level or identify every possible fault.
